1. About these terms

This website is run by ITS Cyprus, a non-profit association under establishment, and includes its initiatives such as Road to Zero Cyprus and Live Traffic & Network. By using the site you accept the terms below.

2. Safe System analyses

Collision analyses are indicative reviews of the road and its infrastructure, based on Safe System principles. They are drafted with AI assistance and reviewed by a person before publication.

Important: these analyses are published for information, research and road safety advocacy. Under no circumstances do they:
  • constitute legal findings, expert evidence or official collision investigation reports;
  • attribute legal fault, criminal liability or negligence to anyone;
  • replace the investigations of the Cyprus Police, the courts or other competent authorities.

3. Media Monitor

  • Grades (Green / Amber / Red) assess the language of published articles against published guidelines for reporting road collisions. They are drafted with AI assistance and reviewed by a person.
  • They are an opinion on how a particular article is written, not a judgement of the outlet’s or its journalists’ credibility.

4. Indicative road safety ratings

  • Star ratings are indicative, inspired by the iRAP methodology and calculated from OpenStreetMap infrastructure data.
  • They are not an official audit or a certified rating by the International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP).
  • Real conditions may differ (weather, traffic, temporary works).

5. Live Traffic & Network

Data comes from the Cyprus Police, local authorities, water boards and Traffic4Cyprus (Waze) driver reports. It may be incomplete, delayed or inaccurate. It is provided for general information only and must not be used for navigation or safety decisions. Always follow road signs and Police instructions.

6. Official statistics

Official statistics come from the Cyprus Police, the Cyprus Statistical Service and the EU CARE database, as published by those bodies. For official use, always refer to the original sources.

7. Use of content

The content of this website (texts, analyses, maps, charts and data presentations) belongs to ITS Cyprus unless stated otherwise, and is made available for viewing. We do not publish the data under an open licence.

  • You may quote short extracts or individual figures for news, research or education, with a link and the credit “Source: ITS Cyprus / Road to Zero Cyprus”.
  • Substantial reproduction, bulk copying or automated extraction of data (scraping) requires our written permission.
  • Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL licence); Google and Mapillary maps and imagery are subject to their own terms; official statistics belong to the bodies that publish them.

8. Liability

We take care to keep the information accurate, but provide it “as is”, without warranty. To the extent permitted by law, ITS Cyprus is not liable for any loss arising from use of the website.
