Watering works on the verges of the Larnaca – Nicosia motorway
On the Larnaca–Nicosia motorway, during the period 27/07/2026-30/09/2026, from Monday to Thursday, between 08:30 – 14:30, watering works will be carried out by the Forestry Department on the verges of the motorway in both directions. During the works, part of the motorway's hard shoulder will be closed, in sections of 300 metres at a time. Traffic will not be affected.
Watering works on the central median of the Larnaca Airport - Rizoelia motorway
On the Larnaca Airport - Rizoelia motorway, in both directions, from Monday 31/08/2026 until Thursday 10/09/2026, daily except weekends, between 08:30 – 15:30, watering works will be carried out on the central median by the Forestry Department. During the works, the right lane adjacent to the motorway's central median will be closed in sections, for a length of 1.5km at a time, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
Pipeline construction works on the old Larnaca - Kofinou road
On the old Larnaca - Kofinou road, during the period from Monday 31/08/2026 until Friday 25/09/2026, between 08:00 - 16:00 daily except weekends, pipeline construction works will be carried out by the Water Development Department. During the above period, a section of the road, between the villages of Anglisides and Kofinou, will be closed for approximately 100 metres at three simultaneous points, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using traffic lights.
Slope watering works - Larnaca-Famagusta motorway
On the Larnaca-Nicosia motorway, as well as the Larnaca-Famagusta and Larnaca-Kofinou motorways, during the period 27/07/2026-30/09/2026, from Monday to Thursday, between 08:30-14:30, watering works will be carried out by the Forestry Department on the slopes of the motorways in both directions. During the works, part of the motorway hard shoulder will be closed, in sections of 300 metres at a time. Traffic will not be affected.
Watering of plants on verges and slopes, Nicosia-Limassol Motorway
On the Nicosia-Limassol Motorway, from the GSP roundabout to the junction with the Nicosia-Larnaca Motorway (A2), in both directions, the Forestry Department will periodically carry out watering works for plants on the verges and slopes.
Improvement of Leoforos Ammochostou in Nicosia
As part of the project 'Improvement of Leoforos Ammochostou in Nicosia', works of 24 months' duration began on 20 February 2025 and are expected to be completed by 22 February 2027. These include Leoforos Ammochostou from its junction with Kalavryton Street to the Sopaz roundabout, approximately 1.7 km long, and a secondary road network of approximately 0.8 km, consisting of sections of Kalavryton, Pafou, Madaris and Semeles streets.
Trench excavation for water pipe on Astromeritis-Karvouna-Troodos road
On the inter-urban Astromeritis-Karvouna-Troodos road, near the Community of Evrychou, from Monday 24/08/2026 until Friday 18/09/2026, daily except weekends and holidays, between 07:00 and 17:00, trench excavation works will be carried out for the installation of a water pipe. During the works, one traffic lane towards Troodos will be closed over a section of approximately 100 metres, and traffic will be diverted to the other lane using temporary traffic lights.
Construction of retaining wall on Limassol-Troodos road
On the Limassol – Troodos road near Psilo Dendro, from Monday 24/08/2026 until Wednesday 23/12/2026, a private company will carry out works to construct a retaining wall with an integrated mesh to raise existing walls. During the works, one traffic lane will be closed over a length of approximately 100 m, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using temporary traffic lights.

The right lane adjacent to the central median will be partially closed, for a length of 1.5 km at a time, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.

On the Larnaca-Nicosia motorway, in the section from the Rizoelia roundabout to the Nisou exit and vice versa, from Monday 31/08/2026 until Thursday 10/09/2026, daily except weekends and Fridays, between 09:00-14:30, watering works will be carried out on the central median by the Forestry Department. During the works, the right lane adjacent to the central median of the motorway will be closed in one direction for a length of 1.5km at a time, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.

On the Larnaca-Nicosia motorway, in the section from the Rizoelia roundabout to the Nisou exit and vice versa, watering works will be carried out on the central median by the Forestry Department. During the works, the right lane adjacent to the central median will be closed in one direction for a length of 1.5km at a time, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
Pruning and cleaning works on central median
On the Nicosia-Larnaca motorway, pruning and cleaning works will be carried out on the central median. During the works, the right lane adjacent to the central median will be partially closed for approximately 2,000m at a time, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lanes.
Watering works on the central median
On the motorway section between Erimi and Petra tou Romiou, periodic watering works on the central median will be carried out by the Forestry Department. During the works, the right lane of traffic may be closed at any time for a length of approximately 2000 meters, and traffic will be diverted to the left lane.
Irrigation works on motorway central median
On sections of the motorway in both directions, over a length of 1.5–2 km per day, from Monday 31/08/2026 until Friday 11/09/2026, excluding weekends, from 08:00 to 15:00, periodic irrigation works will be carried out by the Forestry Department on the central median, for a total length of approximately 17.5 kilometres. During the works the right traffic lane will be partially closed and traffic will be diverted to the left lane.
Watering of plants on verges and embankments - Nicosia-Limassol
On the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, from the GSP roundabout to the junction with the Nicosia-Larnaca Motorway (A2), in both directions, the Forestry Department will periodically carry out watering works for plants on the verges and embankments.
Watering of plants on shoulders and slopes
On the Nicosia – Deneia motorway, from the Archangelos interchange to the Kokkinotrimithia roundabout, in both directions, from Wednesday 08/07/2026 to Wednesday 30/09/2026, daily except weekends and holidays, between 08:30 and 15:00, periodic watering works of plants on the shoulders and slopes will be carried out by the Forestry Department.
Pedestrian crossing construction on Leoforos Nikou Pattichi
In Larnaca, on Leoforos Nikou Pattichi, near Mystra street, pedestrian crossing construction works will take place as part of the 'Priority Works of the Larnaca Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths' project. During works on the section, totaling approximately 100 meters in length, the right traffic lane will remain closed to traffic in both directions. In addition, the right-turn route from Leoforos Nikou Pattichi towards Mystra street will remain closed, with traffic towards Mystra street being diverted via Konstantinoupoleos street, using appropriate temporary road signage.
