Torrential rains affecting traffic on the motorway between Latsion and Kotsyati
Torrential rains and strong winds in the Latsion, Pera Choriou Nisou, and Kotsyati areas of Nicosia are affecting traffic on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, particularly in the section between the Latsion Weighing Station and Kotsyati. Police warn drivers of limited visibility and slippery road conditions and advise safe, reduced-speed driving with proper safety distances and headlights on.

One lane closed at Polemidies roundabout heading to Nicosia due to road collision
A road collision involving four vehicles has closed one lane of the acceleration slip road at Polemidies roundabout heading towards Nicosia. Two vehicles are immobilized on the lane and drivers are urged to exercise caution and follow police instructions.

Retaining wall construction works on the Limassol - Troodos road
On the Limassol – Troodos road near Psilo Dendro, a private company will carry out works to construct a retaining wall with an integrated mesh to raise existing walls. During the works, one traffic lane will be closed for approximately 100 m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using temporary traffic lights.
Water supply pipe installation on the Episkopi-Mandria road
On the Episkopi-Mandria road, near the village of Souni-Zanatzia, a private company will carry out water supply pipe installation works on behalf of the Water Development Department. During the works one traffic lane will be closed for approximately 100 m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using temporary traffic lights.
Pruning and cleaning works on central median
On the Nicosia-Larnaca motorway, pruning and cleaning works will be carried out on the central median. During the works, the right lane adjacent to the central median will be partially closed for approximately 2,000m at a time, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lanes.
Watering works on the central median
On the motorway section between Erimi and Petra tou Romiou, periodic watering works on the central median will be carried out by the Forestry Department. During the works, the right lane of traffic may be closed at any time for a length of approximately 2000 meters, and traffic will be diverted to the left lane.
Irrigation works on motorway central median
On sections of the motorway in both directions, over a length of 1.5–2 km per day, from Monday 31/08/2026 until Friday 11/09/2026, excluding weekends, from 08:00 to 15:00, periodic irrigation works will be carried out by the Forestry Department on the central median, for a total length of approximately 17.5 kilometres. During the works the right traffic lane will be partially closed and traffic will be diverted to the left lane.
Watering of plants on verges and slopes, Nicosia-Limassol Motorway
On the Nicosia-Limassol Motorway, from the GSP roundabout to the junction with the Nicosia-Larnaca Motorway (A2), in both directions, the Forestry Department will periodically carry out watering works for plants on the verges and slopes.

On the Nicosia – Deneia motorway, from the Archangelos interchange to the Kokkinotrimithia roundabout, in both directions, from Wednesday 08/07/2026 to Wednesday 30/09/2026, daily except weekends and holidays, between 08:30 and 15:00, periodic watering works of plants on the shoulders and slopes will be carried out by the Forestry Department.

Improvement of Ammochostou Avenue in Nicosia
In Nicosia and Aglantzia, as part of the project 'Improvement of Ammochostou Avenue in Nicosia', works of 24 months' duration are being carried out from 20 February 2025 and are expected to be completed by 22 February 2027. Specifically, the works include Ammochostou Avenue from its junction with Kalavryton Street to the Sopaz roundabout, approximately 1.7 km long, and a secondary road network of approximately 0.8 km, consisting of sections of Kalavryton, Paphos, Madaris and Semelis streets.

On the inter-urban road Astromeritis-Karvounas–Troodos, near the community of Evrychou, from Monday 24/08/2026 until Friday 18/09/2026, daily except weekends and holidays, between 07:00 and 17:00, trench excavation works for the installation of a water pipeline will be carried out. During the works, one traffic lane in the direction of Troodos will be closed over a section approximately 100 metres long, and traffic will be diverted to the other lane using temporary traffic lights.
