What the October 2024 photographs do show is a straight, wide, smooth asphalt street with long clear sight lines north and south and no visible lane markings, traffic calming or narrowing — a layout that invites drivers to travel at the top of whatever limit applies. A person on an electric scooter has no bodywork, no crumple zone and no seatbelt; above roughly 30 km/h impact speed, serious injury becomes the likely outcome rather than the exception. Bringing real speeds down to that level — through a signed 30 km/h limit backed by raised crossings that act like speed bumps (speed tables) and visual narrowing — makes a survivable outcome far more likely.
